I’m Mike Robinson, the owner of this website. I am a soon-to-be-retired engineer that has always been passionate about anything to do with eating healthy and working out.

As an engineer, I am responsible for verifying products, processes, and procedures. Whether something works or doesn’t work, I still need to know why. I have that same mindset about any plan designed to help you lose weight or get in shape. I need to understand why something does or doesn’t work. That’s where my love of research comes in handy. Articles posted on Sneaky Health will be backed by factual evidence. I’ll share why something is good for you or why it may not be based on research and studies.

Over the last 25 years, I have been active in the fight against obesity, diseases like high blood pressure and coronary artery disease, and poor nutrition.

Family Matters

My passion in these areas is personal. I lost my father to diabetes. He was only 54 years old when he had a massive heart attack. I often think about how great it would have been to have him at my wedding or to be there to see my three daughters grow up.

Those emotions have always driven my actions regarding living a healthy lifestyle. I know that high blood pressure, heart disease, and high cholesterol are hereditary characteristics that I have to overcome. The same can be said for millions of people around the world. That doesn’t mean we are powerless over our lives regarding our health.

I decided to fight my genetic predisposition to heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol by making changes in my life. I became a vegetarian over ten years ago and haven’t had a single bite of meat since. It was hard but not unbearable. Having the proper motivation, like wanting to see my children and grandchildren grow up, makes it easier to sustain.

That is why I purchased this website. My commitment is to provide well-researched articles on achieving whatever health, nutrition, or fitness goals you may have.

But more importantly, I want to help you solve problems when you have questions about which direction to go and the best way to get there.

Over the last two-plus decades, I’ve tried so many diets and fitness routines I’ve lost count. Some work better than others, but it usually comes down to a person’s preference. You have to find what works for you and your lifestyle.
